Meet the Chef

Chef David Scalise joined the beautiful Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in October of 2008. With over 25 years of professional culinary experience, Chef Scalise has won medals at various culinary competitions.

    A native of Columbia Missouri, Chef Scalise began his culinary career at the age of 15 as a dishwasher in a small Italian restaurant. He worked his way up to restaurant chef, banquet chef and finally finished his ten-year stay at the Four Seasons as Executive Sous Chef before moving to Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin he was employed by the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. Chef Scalise held the position of Executive Sous chef overseeing a staff of over 100 culinarians and five restaurants at this renowned four-diamond resort and spa for four years.

    He is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the societe mondiale du vin and the American Culinary Federation.  He has won medals at various culinary competitions. He resides in beautiful Ponte Vedra Florida, with his wife Kelly.
